Volkswagen Spotlights the Newest Golf Safety Technology

Volkswagen is no stranger to cutting-edge safety technology. The automaker has a legacy of giving its vehicles the latest tools and systems as they become available.
Currently, Volkswagen is rolling out a feature that helps avoid collisions with pedestrians and cyclists — which would be especially useful as you’re driving in the Cincinnati metro area. Called Front Assist, this feature is part of the automaker’s I.Q. Drive system and can help increase safe driving for all drivers.
Not content to only offer such features on SUVs — as many companies do — Volkswagen has made Front Assist available on the 2022 Volkswagen Golf GTI and Golf R.
This Golf safety technology uses cameras and radars to monitor the space ahead and around the car specifically for objects resembling pedestrians and cyclists. These monitors are so precise that they can even spot things in the dark that the driver can’t see with the naked eye.
If a collision with that obstacle seems imminent, the car will automatically apply the brakes to stop its movement. That’s what Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking do, working in tandem with Front Assist as part of the I.Q. Drive system.
These are a handful of the many safety features you can find on new models at Joseph Volkswagen of Cincinnati, including the 2022 Volkswagen Golf GTI and Golf R.
